Guild Wars 2 has ended up on a lot of Most Anticipated Games of 2012 lists. I won’t lie that I had my hopes up last year that perhaps ArenaNet would surprise us by launching the game in December.
A post on ArenaNet’s blog by President Mike O’Brien has confirmed the game for a 2012 release. Press invites for the game will be sent next month. Majority of fans who couldn’t get into the closed beta will get a chance to play the game when the open beta starts later this April. ArenaNet plans to feed off the reviews and feedback for the game before it goes gold.
