Everyone who thought that the Command & Conquer series was dead should think again. A new website has gone online for a new upcoming title in the franchise. The game will be headed by Victory Games that was just announced and is based in Los Angeles. Jon Van Caneghem, the GM of Victory Games mentioned that their main focus is making a AAA Command & Conquer game.
I can tell you it’s a Command & Conquer game for the PC, but we’re not yet at a stage where I can go into any details—we’ll be prepared to make a more formal announcement later in the year. We’re not just working on a game, though. Our general focus is on the future of Command & Conquer. That means updating a lot of the core technology to create a stable base for future development, and leveraging that work on this first game.
Victory Games is looking to fill the gaps left behind after the former EA Los Angeles team behind Command and Conquer and Battle for Middle Earth games were let go last year.
