Fall 2011 Is Coming: The Games That Deserve Your Cash

It’s time to save up your cash, ask your parents for an advance or rob that bank down the street. A ton of grade A games are heading your way this fall and here’s a list of what titles deserve your hard earned cash.

The order of the following list is based on release dates (ascending).

Gears Of War 3

Publisher: Microsoft
Developer: Epic Games
Platforms: Xbox 360
Release Date: September 20, 2011
As the third installment in the series, Gears Of War 3 will continue it’s story and also answer the majority of questions that players have about the history of the world and what’s going on. The game will feature four-player co-op for the first time and also a new mech suit called the Silverback. You’ll once again take control of Marcus Fenix but this time face off against new Locust enemies.

Dark Souls

Publisher: Namco Bandai
Developer: From Software
Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360
Release Date: October 4, 2011
The successor to Demon’s Souls is one of the most anticipated games of this fall. Dark Souls will be even more difficult than the previous one, which was the primary reason for a lot of pulled out hair and broken controllers. Taking place in an open world environment, the game will have players exploring dungeons and battle using various weapons and strategies. This time around you will also be able to leave behind messages to either help or deceive other human players.

Rage

Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Developer: Id Software
Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Release Date: October 4, 2011
The game is being boasted as one of the most beautiful titles of 2011. Rage will feature a post-apocalyptic landscape setup similar to Fallout. Even though it’s a first-person-shooter, Rage will contain some RPG elements. Also add combat while driving to the mix; along with side missions, a fascinating story arc, plenty of shooting mayhem and a good multiplayer. The game is all set to deliver a perfect game experience.

Forza Motorsport 4

Publisher: Microsoft
Developer: Turn 10
Platforms: Xbox 360
Release Date: October 11, 2011
A treat for Xbox 360 users as Forza 4 makes it way on their consoles this October. Like the earlier titles, Forza 4 will also have a career mode, only this time the career mode will track your progress and increase difficulty if it sees fit. Several new race modes will also be there like Drift, Autocross, multiple-heat races. The multiplayer mode will feature a 16 player racing support which in my opinion is pretty awesome. The Autovista option will also have players gaping at the tiniest of details as the game brings life-like cars to your screen.

Batman: Arkham City

Publisher: Warner Bros.
Developer: Rocksteady Studios
Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Release Date: October 18, 2011
Set one year after the events of Arkham Asylum, Batman will have to use stealth and predator tactics to take down the prisoners that are running amok in Arkham City. The game is setup in an open world environment where you can make your way around the city to complete quests and missions. The caped crusader will have access to the old as well as new gadgets; puzzle elements will be available as well. Batman will have to rely on his detective skills to catch clues and perform forensic activities.

Battlefield 3

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: DICE
Platforms: PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Release Date: October 25, 2011
Battlefield 3 will find you in the midst of an intense battlefield with platoons of tanks rolling over the beautiful terrain, mortar and explosives bringing down structures, dog-fights happening in the air, helicopters dropping down missile barrages and paratroopers and much more. The game is expected to feature an over-the-top gameplay experience with eye candy that will make your jaw drop.
