A rumor has been set afloat regarding the release of Nintendo’s next console. Currently called Wii 2 this one is said to capture the hardcore crowd. High level sources from all the major third party video game developers are now contributing to this by telling multiple versions of the same tale. Here is what we know so far.
The controller is said to have a 6 inch HD screen. Also some sources claim that you can stream the content from consoles on to this screen. It has two bumpers, two analogue sticks, two triggers and a motion sensor. Its also been mentioned that the motion sensing on this controller is ‘better than move’. There is also a camera attached to the controller.
The console its self is much more powerful than the current generation. Its capable of rendering images in 1080p, will include a custom IBM PowerPC CPU with three cores, a GPU from the ATI R700 family with a shader unit at version 4.1, and at least 512Mb of RAM. The part about the GPU is disputed since there is another rumor saying that the GPU is by AMD not IBM.
Its said that third party developers had known about this ‘for a while’ and that they even got developer kits for this new console. Also a number of third party titles will make up the launch title list when the console is announced this E3.
Finally all the sources quote that there is a big surprise associated with the console.
